Welsh Success at 2007 World Championships

The WCKA Kickboxing and Karate Squad, who train in Swansea, Aberdare, Pontypridd, Rhondda, Caerphilly and the Vale of Glamorgan, travelled to Karlsruhe in Germany for the 2007 WKA World Championships.

WCKA Lil Dragons did a fantastic team demonstration at the recent Ferndale Arts Factory Fun Day in the Rhondda.  The team were – Rhys Brittain, Lloyd Jones, Ben Peever, Kelly Jones, Owen Jones, Scott Edmunds and Thomas Matthews. 

Instructors Nick Clarke and Mike Kehely would like to thank the Lil Dragons and their parents for coming along and showing some great skills in speed punching, speed kicking & forms.

What a great day for the Welsh Contact Karate Association.  Saturday 2 June 2007 saw the return of the WCKA Interclub competition.  Instructors from around South Wales brought many students to make the event a great success.

The growing WCKA Superfit Fighting & Forms Squad travelled to Nottingham for the WAKO British Championships & Dublin for the Irish Open.  Top quality competition with teams from all over the world, including the amazing Raymond Daniels & Chloe Bruce.  Outstanding results from the team who are soon off to the WKA World Championships in Germany.

Weapons Co-Ordinator

Has been practicing Martial Arts for over 28 years, starting at the age of 5 years old with Classical Chinese Boxing and Wado-Ryu Karate where he was awarded his first black belt. Read More

Assistant Chief Instructor
Mr. Hughes first started martial arts in 1979 with Knock-Down (full contact) karate and also studied Lau Gar Kung Fu, Kickboxing, Thai Boxing, and Ninjistu before joining the WCKA in 1987. Read More
